Rochester is a hidden gem that I highly recommend. The castle itself we thought was a bit expensive, BUT! When you are in it's fantastic there was soo much to explore and the view from the top was incredible, we stayed up there for ages just walking around and around.
The main street town was beautiful, they have kept all of the original architecture and it was so relaxing to walk around. We have actually been multiple times to meet friends. It genuinely is a lovely and relaxing day out.
We still want to go back because we haven't managed to see the restoration house and gardens which look beautiful from the pictures.
